Guanajuato prepares 14 energy projects to generate 1,731 megawatts

Guanajuato is advancing 14 major energy projects aimed at producing 1,731 megawatts to stabilize medium and high-voltage electricity supplies. The initiatives, which involve companies from Mexico and Germany, include nine photovoltaic, one geothermal, three cogeneration, and one combined cycle project.

These projects are distributed across several municipalities, including Romita, Dolores Hidalgo, San Miguel de Allende, Doctor Mora, San Diego de la Unión, San Luis de la Paz, Manuel Doblado, Celaya, Silao, and Irapuato. Current progress on these proposals ranges from 35% to 90%. The state currently ranks fourth nationally in energy generation, and these strategic developments are intended to maintain regional competitiveness and attract further investment.
