Guanajuato prepares for the 54th Festival Internacional Cervantino

Preparations are underway in Guanajuato, Mexico, for the 54th edition of the Festival Internacional Cervantino, one of Latin America’s most significant cultural events. The festival involves extensive logistical planning by federal, state, and municipal authorities, impacting local hospitality, tourism, and urban management to accommodate thousands of domestic and international visitors.

France serves as the guest of honor for this edition, with its influence woven throughout the programming. The Museo Iconográfico del Quijote (MIQ) has announced a specific program titled ‘El MIQ en el FIC,’ featuring 11 activities centered on French culture and the legacy of Don Quijote. The MIQ schedule includes visual arts, cinema, music, and literature, such as European photography exhibitions, films by Alexandre Aja, and musical performances by the MIQ Children's Choir.

The program also features philosophical explorations of Cervantes’ work, including a presentation by Françoise Davoine and Jean-Max Gaudillière, bridging the connection between French perspectives and the literary masterpiece.
