Mexico crime investigations cover various regional incidents
Various criminal investigations and legal developments are unfolding across Mexico. In Guanajuato, Prosecutor Gerardo Vázquez Alatriste addressed several high-profile cases, including the investigation into the disappearance of a man linked to the closure of the Hart Club nightclub in León. He also commented on the ongoing investigation regarding a female municipal police officer from Cortazar who disappeared while on duty.
In other regions, the Jalisco Prosecutor's Office is investigating the targeted killing of attorney José Camilo Novoa López in Ciudad Guzmán, ruling out robbery as the primary motive. In Chiapas, authorities are looking into an alleged assault on a six-year-old boy at a primary school in San Cristóbal de las Casas.
Additionally, in Los Mochis, Sin., officials are awaiting autopsy results for María Fernanda “G”, a pregnant woman killed in a feminicide, to determine if further charges will be filed. In León, the Prosecutor also addressed a sexual assault case involving a 13-year-old girl, asserting that the suspect, Edwin Arturo “N”, will remain in custody as the legal process continues.
Separately, mobility authorities in León reported a significant increase in traffic violations, with 350 fines issued for unauthorized use of exclusive transit lanes in 2026.
