Guanajuato provides support to victims of vicarious violence

The Guanajuato Secretariat for Women has provided comprehensive support to 299 women in the state who have been victims of vicarious violence so far this year. This form of gender-based violence involves perpetrators using children, loved ones, or assets to inflict emotional pain on mothers through manipulation, threats, or economic coercion.

Secretary Itzel Balderas stated that the administration, led by Governor Libia Dennise García Muñoz Ledo, aims to place women at the center of public policy to ensure they do not face these processes alone. The government is offering free psychological and legal assistance to protect both the rights of mothers and the well-being of children.
