Guanajuato soccer match shooting leaves one dead and six injured

An armed attack during an amateur soccer match in San Francisco del Rincón, Guanajuato, resulted in one death and at least six injuries. The incident occurred on a Sunday afternoon at sports fields located in the Barrio de Guadalupe neighborhood.

According to reports, armed individuals traveling on a motorcycle arrived at the scene and opened fire on the crowd. Seven people were struck by bullets, including a 12-year-old child. While some victims were transported to hospitals by private vehicles due to delays in emergency services, authorities confirmed that one individual died from their injuries.

Local police cordoned off the area, and investigators from the State Attorney General's Office of Guanajuato began processing the scene. The Mayor of San Francisco del Rincón, Alejandro Antonio Marún González, condemned the violence and stated that the administration is supporting the injured victims. This follows a similar tragedy in the region in January, where an attack during a soccer match left 11 people dead.
