Guanajuato students selected for 2026 Mathematics Olympiad

Nine students from Guanajuato have been selected to represent the state in the 10th Mexican Mathematics Olympiad for Basic Education (OMMEB), scheduled for September 24–27, 2026, in Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo.

The delegation was chosen through a rigorous selection process organized by the Guanajuato Ministry of Education (SEG) and the Center for Research in Mathematics (CIMAT). The competition involved 14,484 students from 1,090 schools across all 46 municipalities of the state. The selection process, which began in January 2026, included seven evaluation stages and both in-person and virtual training sessions focused on mathematical reasoning, analysis, and problem-solving.
