Guanajuato teacher dismissed following inappropriate conduct videos

A teacher in Acámbaro, Guanajuato, has been removed from his position following the viral spread of videos showing inappropriate behavior toward students at Escuela Secundaria General No. 20 “Centéotl”. The recordings, captured by students in the classroom, depict the arts educator engaging in suggestive physical contact and simulated sexual acts with minors.

Guanajuato Governor Libia Dennise García confirmed that the teacher’s contract has been rescinded and he is permanently barred from teaching in the state. The Secretaría de Educación de Guanajuato (SEG) is currently conducting a legal evaluation to determine if there is sufficient evidence to file formal criminal charges with the Fiscalía de Guanajuato.

Parents of the students have demanded that the authorities pursue criminal prosecution to ensure the individual faces prison time. In response to the incident, authorities have stated that the affected students will receive psychological support as part of established safety protocols.
