Guanajuato to host Taco Festival at Alhóndiga de Granaditas

The Taco Festival will be held in Guanajuato Capital from September 18 to 20, 2026. The event will take place at the historic Alhóndiga de Granaditas, a site significant to Mexico's independence movement.

The festival aims to showcase the taco as a diverse expression of Mexican gastronomy, featuring traditional varieties such as al pastor, guisado, canasta, and barbacoa, alongside contemporary culinary interpretations. Participants will include regional offerings from across Mexico, including preparations recognized by the Michelin Guide.

In addition to food offerings, the program includes culinary workshops, cultural activities, and a showcase of local Guanajuato handicrafts. A gastronomic pavilion will also be dedicated to other aspects of Mexican cuisine.
