Guanajuato tourists injured in Oaxaca bus crash receive state aid
A tourist bus from San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato overturned on the coast of Oaxaca, killing María Cristina García Olalde and injuring several passengers. Two women from San Miguel remain hospitalized in Oaxaca.
The Guanajuato state government, through Secretary of Government Jorge Jiménez Lona, pledged to cover funeral costs for the deceased and medical expenses for the injured. Municipal President Mauricio Trejo coordinated with state authorities to arrange a bus that brought 18 stranded tourists back to Guanajuato and to provide hotel accommodation and travel assistance. Psychological support services were also offered to victims and families. The driver fled the scene and officials continue the investigation.
