Guanajuato's SAPICA 95 Trade Fair Highlights Leather‑Footwear Industry

The 95th edition of the Salón de la Piel y el Calzado (SAPICA) will be held from August 11‑13, 2026 at Poliforum León in Guanajuato, Mexico. Launched by State Secretary of Economy Claudia Cristina Villaseñor Aguilar, the event, branded SAPICA FUTURA 100+, marks both the centennial of the region’s shoe sector and a historic milestone for the fair.

Organizers expect more than 380 exhibitor companies, over 2,000 brands and roughly 2,200 specialized buyers from 17 countries, generating an estimated 14,000 business meetings. The sector currently comprises 6,225 economic units, provides more than 108,000 jobs and contributes about 7.5 % of Guanajuato’s Gross Domestic Product.

The state government will support 86 local firms, promote the SAPICA Learning program and launch a loyalty initiative aimed at expanding market access and strengthening competitiveness through technology, design, sustainability and intellectual‑property protection.
