Guanambi water supply disrupted by fire-induced power outage
An arson fire in vegetation along the BR-030 highway caused a high-voltage power outage that disrupted water supplies in Guanambi and surrounding regions. The incident, reported on August 27, caused the failure of equipment at the Algodão Pipeline, affecting water distribution in Guanambi, Candiba, Matina, Palmas de Monte Alto, and the districts of Mutãs and Pajeú do Vento.
Neoenergia Coelba stated that the outage was triggered by external factors and that a network protection system activated automatically. The Empresa Baiana de Águas e Saneamento (Embasa) confirmed that the water supply suspension was a direct result of the power failure affecting the pumping systems required to transport water through the pipeline.
