Guanay woman dies after alleged brutal assault by partner

A 63-year-old woman named Cristina died following a brutal assault in Guanay, allegedly committed by her partner. Her son, Omar Colque, reported that forensic examinations revealed severe injuries, including 11 broken ribs, multiple bruises across her body, and significant damage to her throat.

The incident reportedly occurred on the evening of August 10. Neighbors stated they heard screams for help from the residence before silence fell. Colque noted that the violence was not an isolated event, claiming his mother had suffered physical and psychological abuse for years. He mentioned that a formal complaint had been filed with the Guanay Police as far back as September 2023, but the family is now questioning why sufficient measures were not taken to prevent the fatal outcome. The family is demanding a full investigation to establish responsibility for her death.
