Guangdong Rail Connects Guangzhou and Shenzhen Airports

On July 31 the Zhuli‑to‑Xintang South segment of the Guangdong intercity railway began operations at noon. The 48.2‑km stretch adds seven new stations – Zhongluotan East, Jiufó, Fó Láng, Xīn Lóng, Zhèn Lóng, Yǒng Níng North and South – and links directly to Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport and Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport, cutting travel time between the two hubs to about 90 minutes.

The opening completes the full line, which runs at a design speed of 140 km/h and integrates with high‑speed rail stations in Guangzhou and Huizhou, as well as the existing segment from Xintang South to Shenzhen Airport. The service includes “big‑station express” trains and connects the Pearl River Delta’s seven cities, forming a comprehensive regional rail network that supports the goal of a one‑hour living circle between Guangzhou and Shenzhen.
