Guangzhou vocational colleges digitize Guangdong villages and launch livestream e‑commerce pilots
In July, a team of 13 students and three teachers from Guangzhou Huaxia Vocational College’s “Rural Intelligence” practice group spent nine days in Hengkeng Village, Conghua District, Guangzhou. They produced a 4K Chinese‑language digital map of the village, set up an AI‑powered agriculture and tourism Q&A assistant, and created packaging designs and a livestream script for the local yellow‑skin fruit. Their first livestream attracted 5,648 viewers and 402 live watchers. The team handed over the map, AI tool, design files and a manual so the village can continue online promotion.
Around the same time, two “Hundred‑Thousand‑Project” squads from Guangzhou Science and Trade Vocational College carried out a seven‑day practice in Qigong Town, Yangshan County, Qingyuan. They conducted emergency‑rescue training, surveyed safety hazards, and taught villagers livestream e‑commerce skills. Six livestream sessions generated 15 orders worth 3,321 yuan and identified 12 local “seed” livestream hosts. The teams also delivered safety‑risk registers, training manuals and recommendations for a village‑level online sales platform, establishing a longer‑term school‑village cooperation model.
