Guapimirim expands healthcare services in Vale das Pedrinhas
The Guapimirim administration has delivered two new vehicles to the João Guilherme de Lima Family Health Clinic in Vale das Pedrinhas to expand local healthcare services. Mayor Marina Rocha announced that the vehicles will be used to enhance basic care by facilitating home visits and the movement of medical professionals.
The initiative aims to decentralize services, allowing a multidisciplinary team—including nurses, community agents, social workers, and psychologists—to provide care directly within the community. This approach is intended to reduce the need for residents to travel to the city center for routine procedures.
Additionally, the new fleet will support the decentralization of diagnostic services. The clinic will be able to conduct laboratory collections, rapid tests, and newborn heel prick tests (teste do pezinho) locally, aiming to increase agility and reduce waiting times for patients.
