Police dismantle drug networks in Paraguay and Colombia

Authorities in Paraguay and Colombia have conducted major operations against organized crime networks.

In Paraguay, the “Operación Drop” targeted a micro-trafficking and money laundering ring in Guarambaré. The operation resulted in the arrest of four individuals, including Mauricio Gabriel Moisés Aranda Gómez. Police seized approximately 1.4 kilograms of cocaine, over 1 kilogram of marijuana, and 110 grams of crack. Additionally, assets valued at approximately USD 1.5 million, including vehicles and real estate, were confiscated and placed under the administration of Senabico.

In Colombia, a multi-agency operation involving the National Police, the Army, and the Prosecutor's Office dismantled the criminal group known as ‘Los Necios’ in the Santander department. Following an eight-month investigation, 23 people were captured during 20 simultaneous raids across Barbosa, Puente Nacional, Vélez, and Socorro. Authorities seized narcotics, including marijuana, cocaine, and amphetamines, along with over USD 1 million in cash and various weapons.
