Guaramirim woman convicted for using forged medical certificates
A woman in Guaramirim has been convicted for using four forged medical certificates to justify absences from her workplace between 2019 and 2021. The fraud was discovered after the employer noticed inconsistencies, such as repeated identification numbers on different documents, and verified with the health insurance provider that the certificates were not issued by their system.
The documents included claims of personal medical treatment and medical consultations for the woman's son. Following an internal investigation that included message logs and a police report, the Public Ministry filed charges. During the legal proceedings, the defense argued that no formal forensic examination had been conducted on the original documents.
