Guaraní language featured in Paraguay's Cocido Literario

The Guaraní language is the central theme of a new edition of the Cocido Literario event held at Punto Divertido in Paraguay. Organized during the month of the Guaraní language, the gathering brings together writers, scholars, cultural managers, and linguistic experts to discuss the language's role in national identity.

Under the motto ‘Guaraní: memory, identity and future’, the event aims to move the language beyond its status as inherited heritage, positioning it as a living tool for literature, education, contemporary creation, and daily communication. The session is directed by poet and writer Feliciano Acosta, who was named Author of the Year for the 2026 International Book Fair (FIL).

Prominent participants include Minister of Linguistic Policies Javier Viveros, Aníbal Saucedo Rodas of the El Cabildo Cultural Center, and David Galeano, president of the Ateneo de Lengua Guaraní. Other notable contributors include National Literature Prize winner Moncho Azuaga and various poets and writers such as Susy Delgado and Miguelángel Meza.
