Guaratinguetá man arrested after fatal neighbor dispute

A man was arrested in flagrante following a fatal altercation with a neighbor at a rural property in Guaratinguetá, São Paulo. The incident occurred on Tuesday night on Estrada do Rio das Pedras.

According to police reports, a dispute arose after the suspect refused an invitation from the victim to go to the city. The suspect claimed the victim insulted and physically assaulted him, later returning with a piece of wood. During the ensuing confrontation, the suspect allegedly struck the victim with a metal tool.

Emergency medical services arrived at the scene, but the victim succumbed to severe injuries. The suspect reportedly threw the weapon into a nearby dam, which police subsequently recovered for forensic examination. The suspect remains in custody following the incident.
