Guaratinguetá dance troupe Stilo Livre and local athletes win multiple regional awards
The Stilo Livre urban dance team from Guaratinguetá stood out at Festidança, one of the region’s largest dance festivals that hosts over 40 groups from the Vale do Paraíba and Litoral Paulista. Competing in five categories, the troupe placed third in the adult solo‑female and solo‑male contests, second in the adult duo, third in the juvenile group, and secured first place in the adult group competition. Their overall score earned them the Special Best Team award, naming them the top urban dance ensemble in the Vale do Paraíba.
In other municipal sports, the city’s rhythmic gymnastics squad debuted new individual and group routines at a competition in São José dos Campos, taking home several prizes. Additionally, the Guaratinguetá Under‑18 basketball team defeated Ubatuba 72‑56 in a Paulista Federation match, highlighting the continued strength of the municipality’s youth sports programs.
