Guarda FC signs Indian midfielder Yohaan Benjamin

Portuguese club Guarda FC has signed Mumbai-born Indian youth international Yohaan Benjamin to a two-year contract. The agreement is subject to visa formalities and international clearance.

Benjamin, a midfielder, previously played for Shillong Lajong, where he helped the team win the 2024 Shillong Premier League after scoring nine goals. His move to Portugal is part of Guarda FC’s strategy to develop talent from emerging football markets in India and Asia.

Benjamin expressed gratitude to the club for the opportunity to compete at a higher level in Europe. Guarda FC CEO Jai Agarwal described the player as ambitious and committed.
