Guardamar Castle hillside restoration project moves forward
Excavaciones Simón SL has been recommended as the sole bidder for a €239,023 project to restore and stabilize the hillside below Guardamar Castle in Guardamar del Segura. The project, part of the regional Vega Renhace Plan, aims to combat erosion in a gully that threatens the town’s stormwater drainage systems during heavy rainfall.
The planned works include reshaping the land into a series of terraces and constructing five gabion walls to control soil and sediment movement. Additionally, the project will involve installing a new irrigation network and planting carob trees to improve the landscape. Once the contract receives formal approval, the work is expected to take approximately four months to complete.
