Guardia Civil awards 61.7 million euros for SIVE surveillance maintenance

The Spanish Guardia Civil has awarded contracts for the maintenance of the Integrated External Surveillance System (SIVE), a technological network used to detect drug trafficking and irregular immigration. The total value of the awarded contracts reaches 61,752,390 euros, part of an initial estimate of 90.12 million euros.

Escribano Mechanical & Engineering (EM&E) secured four of the five available lots. These include a 12.6 million euro lot for the southeast coast (Almería, Málaga, Granada, and Murcia) and an 18.7 million euro lot for the Atlantic-Strait zone (Cádiz, Algeciras, Huelva, Ceuta, and Pontevedra). EM&E also manages lots for the Canary Islands (15.3 million euros) and the Levante region (15.1 million euros).

The fifth lot, intended for logistical support and monitoring, was awarded to the company TRC for 1.67 million euros. The entire project is funded by the European Union through the Instrument for Financial Support to Border Management and Visa Policy and is scheduled for a three-year execution period.
