Guardia Civil barracks undergo renovations and reconstruction in Castellón
The Diputación de Castellón has awarded contracts for the improvement and conservation of four Guardia Civil barracks in Castellón, Burriana, Benicàssim, and Peñíscola, with a total investment exceeding 170,000 euros. The three-month project aims to renovate citizen service offices, improve accessibility, and repair structural damage.
Specific allocations include 28,317 euros for the Castellón office, 29,524 euros for Burriana, and 42,456 euros for accessibility upgrades in Benicàssim. The largest portion, 71,250 euros, is designated for Peñíscola to repair pillars and beams affected by water-related structural issues.
In a separate development, the first steps are being taken to replace the Guardia Civil barracks in Vera. Following a tender for the drafting of a demolition and construction project, the initiative seeks to address a facility that has been disused since March 2020 due to collapse risks. The project, which has a base budget of approximately 183,510 euros, is part of the State Security Infrastructure Programming Plan 2025-2029.
