Guardia Civil conducts three mountain rescues in León

The Guardia Civil’s Mountain Rescue and Intervention Group (GREIM) conducted three separate mountain rescue operations in the province of León, Spain, within a 24-hour period.

The operations took place at a via ferrata in Posada de Valdeón, the Hayedo de Argovejo, and the western slope of Pico Cabrones. During these interventions, specialists assisted five individuals. In two of the cases, the Guardia Civil’s Air Unit provided helicopter support to evacuate people who were unable to continue or descend on their own.

In the Posada de Valdeón incident, two people were evacuated via helicopter after becoming stuck on the via ferrata. While they were in good health, they were reportedly too nervous to proceed. In another operation, two hikers were rescued after becoming lost in the Hayedo de Argovejo.
