Spanish police disrupt multiple drug, waste and fraud networks in a series of raids
In a coordinated series of operations across Spain, police forces dismantled several criminal networks. In El Campello (Alicante) the Guardia Civil’s operation “Geum” arrested 11 people and seized 683 g of cocaine, 690 g of marijuana, 23 g of hashish and €46,520. In Lorca (Murcia) the National Police broke up an active cocaine‑heroin point of sale, arresting one man and confiscating 9.15 g of crack‑cocaine, 11.5 g of heroin and almost €11,000 in cash. In Torrevieja (Alicante) an illegal “tusi” lab raid captured 11 suspects, 12 g of the mixed‑drug product, 30 g of amphetamine and €820. A broader drug crackdown in Galicia and Madrid (operation “Logan”) led to 18 arrests and the seizure of 103 kg of cocaine, 30 kg of hashish, 10 kg of marijuana and €160,000. Separate actions also targeted non‑drug crime: the Guardia Civil and Europol dismantled a waste‑trafficking ring that moved about 46,000 t of illegal waste from France into Catalonia, and the National Police broke a fraud network that stole €140 million through fake investment schemes, arresting four suspects in Spain, Portugal and Panama. All investigations remain open and further arrests are possible.
