Guardia Civil dismantles two large marijuana plantations in Granada

The Guardia Civil has dismantled two large-scale marijuana plantations during operations in the municipalities of Pinos Puente and Fuente Vaqueros, Granada.

In the Pinos Puente operation, known as ‘Nazarí Alcazaba 2’, authorities searched six properties, seizing 2,442 cannabis sativa plants and 20 kilograms of buds ready for distribution. A 25-year-old man was identified as a suspect in drug trafficking and electricity fraud; he was also noted to have an outstanding judicial summons.

In the Fuente Vaqueros operation, titled ‘Nazarí Torreón 04’, seven searches were conducted. Three of these resulted in the discovery of marijuana cultivation and electricity fraud. A total of 3,065 cannabis sativa plants in various growth stages were seized. Five individuals were identified on-site for electricity fraud, and four others have been identified for further investigation and judicial proceedings.
