Guardia Civil investigates driver for tachograph card fraud
The Guardia Civil in Segovia is investigating a 44-year-old truck driver and his 25-year-old daughter for the irregular use of a driver's card to manipulate tachograph data. The investigation began during a transport inspection on the AP-6 highway on August 27.
Authorities discovered the driver was using his daughter's card in the truck's tachograph while she was not present. Investigators concluded that the father and daughter were exchanging cards to falsify driving records. The driver faces charges of document forgery, a crime that carries a potential prison sentence of between six months and two years. The case has been referred to the Court of Segovia.
