Guardia Civil military parade to take place in Cádiz

The Guardia Civil is holding its Institutional Week in Cádiz, centered around the feast of the Virgen del Pilar. The main event, a military parade and procession, is scheduled for Sunday, October 4, at the Avenida del Puerto.

Interior Minister Fernando Grande-Marlaska will attend the ceremony, alongside other high-ranking officials including Secretary of State for Security Aina Calvo and Director General of the Guardia Civil Mercedes González. The parade will feature various units on foot, horseback, and motorized vehicles, starting at 12:00 PM, followed by a procession at 1:00 PM.

Local authorities have announced significant traffic disruptions to accommodate the event. Between 10:30 AM and 2:00 PM, several streets, including Puertas de Tierra and Avenida de Astilleros, will face closures. These restrictions will also affect urban and intercity bus routes, taxi services, and access to specific parking areas such as Canalejas and Cuesta de las Calesas.
