Guardia Civil opens new weapons control office in El Ejido, Spain

The Guardia Civil has inaugurated a new Intervención de Armas y Explosivos office in El Ejido, Almería. The facility, located next to the municipal guard post, was made possible through cooperation between the Ayuntamiento of El Ejido and the central government. Subdelegate José María Martín visited the premises with mayor Francisco Góngora and Colonel José Antonio Carvajal, highlighting the office’s modern, appointment‑based service that handles weapon licenses, renewals, transfers, technical inspections and deposits for roughly fifteen citizens each day. Officials described the unit’s work as “discreet but essential,” stressing its role in preventing illegal manufacturing, possession, circulation and use of firearms and explosives, thereby strengthening public safety in the region.
