Guardia di Finanza seizes 20,000 unsafe toys in Varese

The Guardia di Finanza has seized over 20,000 non-compliant toys and more than 300 electrical devices during inspections in the Varese province, specifically targeting businesses in Busto Arsizio and Saronno.

In Busto Arsizio, two shops managed by Chinese nationals were found selling toys and electrical goods that lacked proper safety certifications. Many items were missing the mandatory CE marking, while others displayed non-compliant markings intended to mislead consumers regarding safety standards. These merchants face charges of commercial fraud.

In Saronno, an Italian-managed store was found with approximately 300 textile products that lacked required information regarding product characteristics. The total value of all seized merchandise exceeds 30,000 euros. The three business owners have been reported to the Chamber of Commerce for administrative sanctions totaling approximately 10,000 euros.
