Italy authorities seize hotel and luxury goods in major fraud and counterfeit operations

Italian authorities have conducted two major operations targeting financial and commercial crimes in the Rome area.

In the first case, the Guardia di Finanza and the Velletri Prosecutor's Office seized an hotel in Torvaianica and various luxury assets worth over 1.1 million euros. The investigation into a Pomezia-based hospitality company revealed a scheme to evade taxes by diverting corporate funds to a de facto administrator through fictitious contracts and transferring money to other related companies for personal expenses.

In a separate operation in the Castelli Romani area, investigators dismantled a counterfeit luxury goods warehouse. Following social media monitoring on TikTok, police discovered over 1,200 counterfeit items from high-end brands including Gucci, Chanel, Hermès, and Loro Piana. The seizure included the clothing, accessories, false certificates of authenticity, and electronic devices used to manage the online sales.
