Guardia Nacional inaugurates new housing unit in Chetumal

The Guardia Nacional Military Housing Unit “Chetumal” has been inaugurated in Chetumal, Quintana Roo, providing housing for 61 families of National Guard personnel. The complex consists of 60 apartments and one house.

Inaugurated by Governor Mara Lezama Espinoso and Brigadier General Sergio López Acosta, the facility includes recreational areas such as sports spaces, children's play zones, palapas, and a swimming pool with a hydromassage tub. The infrastructure incorporates sustainable features, including a wastewater treatment plant and automatic lighting systems designed to reduce energy consumption.

Authorities stated that the project aims to provide dignified living conditions for security personnel deployed in the state, allowing them to remain close to their families while performing duties related to security and support for major regional projects.
