Guardia Sanframondi stabbing during Vinalia festival leads to heightened police patrols

A 26‑year‑old man was wounded with a knife to the side during a night‑time altercation in the centre of Guardia Sanframondi while the town hosted the 33rd edition of the Vinalia festival. He was treated by emergency services and taken to the San Pio hospital in Benevento, where his condition is not life‑threatening. The Carabinieri have opened an investigation to reconstruct the incident and identify the attacker.

Following the attack, Prefect Raffaela Moscarella ordered an immediate strengthening of territorial control, adding extra Carabinieri patrols and deploying Operational Intervention Teams (SIO). The enhanced security measures will be reviewed at a provincial committee on public order scheduled for 11 August.
