Guardian Council spokesperson updates on AI and legislative reviews

Hadi Tahan Nazif, spokesperson for the Guardian Council, provided updates on several legislative matters and national development plans. The Council has approved the national plan for artificial intelligence development after determining it does not conflict with Sharia law or the constitution.

Regarding agricultural policy, the Council noted that the plan to support agricultural production and increase food security resilience requires further amendments by the Islamic Consultative Assembly. The current version faced issues regarding Article 85 of the constitution concerning the delegation of legislative powers.

Other legislative items currently under review or awaiting action include a bill to combat international crimes, a proposal to amend dowry laws, and an anti-infiltration plan. The Council will issue its opinion on the anti-infiltration plan once the Parliament completes its deliberations.
