Guarulhos Airport increases investment to R$ 2.5 billion
Guarulhos International Airport and the Ministry of Ports and Airports have increased planned investments to R$ 2.5 billion to expand capacity and modernize infrastructure. The updated investment package, which follows a contract renegotiation extending the concession until 2033, includes R$ 730 million for the 'AmpliAR' program to modernize 12 small terminals now managed by GRU Airport.
A significant portion of the funds, totaling R$ 1.98 billion, will be directed toward expanding aprons and runways, passenger terminals, baggage systems, cargo terminals, electrical and road systems, and information technology. Additionally, R$ 206.9 million is allocated for terminal retrofitting, including civil works and climate control. One major project is the construction of the T3B international pier, expected to be completed by December 2026, which aims to increase capacity by 10 million passengers annually through 14 new boarding bridges.
