Oderço reports $470,000 RTX 5090 shipment missing at Brazilian airport

The Brazilian electronics distributor Oderço has reported the mysterious disappearance of a high-value shipment of Zotac GeForce RTX 5090 graphics cards at Guarulhos International Airport in São Paulo. The missing cargo consists of two pallets valued at approximately 2.5 million reais (roughly $470,000) at cost price.

Oderço Matos, the company's president, stated via social media that the shipment arrived at the airport terminal but could not be located during subsequent logistical stages, including storage and customs clearance. The company noted that in its 38-year history, it has never experienced a loss of this magnitude. While the exact number of units is unconfirmed, estimates suggest at least 63 cards were in the shipment.

The incident occurs amid a global shortage of the RTX 5090, a flagship GPU highly sought after for gaming and artificial intelligence applications. Although Nvidia has denied rumors that production of the card has ceased, supply remains limited. The distributor has publicly called for investigations from airport authorities, the Federal Police, and the Federal Revenue Service, as they have yet to receive an official explanation regarding the whereabouts of the hardware.
