Águas Públicas do Alentejo to spend €720,000 on reservoir upgrades in Odemira and Santiago do Cacém

Águas Públicas do Alentejo (AgdA) has been awarded a contract to rehabilitate the Almograve reservoir in Odemira and the São Francisco da Serra reservoir in Santiago do Cacém. The works, valued at about €720,000 and scheduled for 210 days, will address structural cracks, apply waterproofing, replace piping and modernise hydraulic and electrical equipment. Temporary bypass systems will be installed to guarantee uninterrupted water supply and maintain quality for the served populations.

The project is part of AgdA’s broader strategy to continuously modernise and strengthen water infrastructure in the Alentejo region. AgdA, founded in 2009, is jointly owned by Águas de Portugal (ADP) and the Association of Municipalities for Public Water Management of Alentejo (AMGAP) and manages the Integrated Public Partnership Water System of Alentejo.
