Guasave hospital reports snake sighting in gynecology operating room

A large snake, measuring between one and one and a half meters, was discovered inside the gynecology operating room at the IMSS Bienestar hospital in Guasave. The incident caused alarm among staff and patients in the maternity area.

This is reportedly not an isolated event, as a similar sighting occurred on September 17. Local workers suggest that the hospital, located near areas with dense vegetation, is vulnerable to wildlife intrusion. Recent heavy rains and the presence of overgrown weeds in surrounding lands are believed to have driven the reptiles toward the facility in search of dry ground or food.

Municipal Civil Protection Director Macario Gaxiola Castro stated that operational elements were aware of the situation and would work to relocate the reptile to a safe area. The recurring presence of snakes has raised concerns among hospital personnel and families of patients, who often spend long hours or overnight in the facility.
