Guatapé and Magdalena launch agricultural support initiatives
In Guatapé, Colombia, the municipal administration distributed over 99 million pesos in agricultural supplies to 20 rural producers across four villages. This initiative is part of the ‘Cultivando el Campo’ agreement, a partnership with EPM and nine other municipalities in the reservoir area. The supplies provided include fertilizers, organic compost, seeds, tools, and sprayers, alongside livestock support such as concentrates and infrastructure. To date, the program has benefited 96 producers across seven villages, with a total cumulative investment exceeding 973 million pesos.
In Magdalena, Argentina, the local municipality has launched a municipal garden program focused on family subsistence. The initiative began with a training session and seed distribution for residents participating in the municipal home composting program. Led by forestry engineer Mariano Hugo Clausi, the program aims to promote sustainable habits, waste reduction, and domestic food production. Future stages of the project will expand training and seed access to all interested residents across the district.
