Guatemala and Amecameca hold Independence Day celebrations

Independence Day celebrations were held in Guatemala and Mexico, featuring civic parades and community activities.

In Guatemala City, the Ministry of Culture and Sports organized the 2026 Independence Walk along Avenida La Reforma. The event involved senior citizens from the Sustantivo Adulto Mayor Program, who participated in physical activities and cultural displays, including traditional dances and typical attire.

In Amecameca, Mexico, Mayor Ivette Topete led civic ceremonies to commemorate the anniversary of Mexican Independence. The event included traditional parades and contingents gathered in front of the Municipal Presidency to honor the nation's history.
