Guatemala City to host Encuentro de Conviteros 2026

The Encuentro de Conviteros 2026 is scheduled to take place in Guatemala City on Sunday, September 27. Organized by the Ministry of Culture and Sports, the event features approximately 100 groups from various departments across the country participating in traditional parades.

Two simultaneous routes are planned to showcase the colorful costumes, masks, and music of the convite groups. The first route will depart from the Miguel Ángel Asturias Cultural Center in Zone 1, while the second will begin at Jocotenango Park in Zone 2. Both parades will converge at the Plaza de la Constitución via the Paseo de la Sexta.

The event aims to honor the committees, collectives, and dancers who maintain these artistic traditions, serving to preserve intangible cultural heritage and highlight the historical identity of various municipalities.
