Guatemala government responds to Pinula River flooding in Villa Hermosa

In Guatemala, the government has initiated inter-institutional coordination to address the impact of the Pinula River flooding in the Villa Hermosa I colony, located in the San Miguel Petapa municipality. Following an order from the Constitutional Court, the Secretariat for Planning and Programming of the Presidency (Segeplan) is working alongside Conred, the Ministry of Communications, Infrastructure and Housing, and other agencies to conduct damage assessments and census vulnerable families in sectors II and IV.

The flooding has caused housing collapses and necessitated evacuations to mitigate risks. Authorities are currently defining priority actions to comply with the court's resolution and strengthen the response in the affected territory.
