Guatemala protesters establish roadblocks in Santa Rosa and Jutiapa

Protesters established several roadblocks across Guatemala on Friday, September 4, impacting transit in both the capital and various departments.

In Guatemala City, a blockade at the La Terminal bus station in zone 4, which affected the connection between Calzada Atanasio Tzul and the Torre del Reformador, was reported in the early morning but has since been cleared.

However, four significant blockades remain active in the departments. In Santa Rosa, traffic is obstructed in both directions at kilometer 46 of the CA-1 Oriente (El Cerinal), kilometer 60 on the RD-SRO-03 diversion to Santa Cruz Naranjo, and kilometer 68 on the RD-SRO-03 in Amberes. Additionally, a blockade is reported at kilometer 166 of the RN-19 in El Progreso, Jutiapa, affecting travel in both directions.
