Mexico Sub-23 women's team secures semifinal spot with 7-0 win over Jamaica
The Mexico Sub‑23 women's football team defeated Jamaica 7‑0 at Estadio Moca 85 in Santo Domingo, finishing the group stage unbeaten with seven points and topping Group B of the 2026 Central American and Caribbean Games. After a penalty was saved by goalkeeper Azul Álvarez early in the match, Mexico took control and scored through Andrea Frías, a double from Natalia Coury, Tanna Sánchez, Valerie Vargas, Silvana Flores and Mayalú Rausch. Coach Vanessa Martínez’s side will face a semifinal opponent with a chance to contest the gold medal.
