Guatemalan Model Sebastián Villaverde Killed in Tecpán Motorcycle Crash

Twenty‑four‑year‑old Guatemalan model Sebastián Villaverde died on 1 August 2026 after his motorcycle crashed on the Inter‑American Highway near kilometre 81 in the Las Cabras sector of Tecpán, Chimaltenango. He was riding with a group of motorcyclists when he lost control and struck a central median. Municipal firefighters in Tecpán confirmed he had no vital signs at the scene, and the National Civil Police and the Public Ministry were called to investigate.

Villaverde was known as a model, athlete and filmmaker who had walked national and international runways. The fashion community expressed grief, with Colombian designer Raúl Briceño posting a condolence message. Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances of the accident.
