Guatemalan police conduct multiple arrests in crime operations

Guatemalan authorities have conducted several successful law enforcement operations resulting in multiple arrests across different regions.

In San José Pinula, police arrested Rosendo de Jesús Herrera Moguel, known as “Caroño,” for the alleged rape of three women aged 19, 38, and 65. Investigators state he used fake job offers to lure victims to secluded locations. Herrera Moguel has nine prior criminal records, including robbery and sexual assault.

In Escuintla, a police pursuit in La Democracia led to the capture of three men—Deaymer “N,” Edgar “N,” and Manuel “N”—found driving two vehicles with active theft reports. In a separate incident near Puerto San José, Luis Fernando Ramírez was apprehended following an armed confrontation with police after an assault on a couple. During the exchange, one officer was wounded, and Ramírez was injured.

In Jutiapa, police arrested Dedwar Norris Castellanos Girón, alias “El Poli,” and Manuel José Castillo y Castillo following a shooting incident in Quesada. Castellanos Girón, who was previously involved in an ambush in August, was found with an illegal carbine and ammunition.
