Guatemalan police report 52 individuals processed for terrorist association

Rigoberto Oseguera Mass, Director of the National Police in Guatemala, announced that 52 individuals are currently facing judicial processes under charges of terrorist association. The group of defendants includes 50 men and two women.

Approximately 30 of these individuals have already passed their initial hearings and are advancing toward preliminary hearings with the support of specialized prosecutors. Oseguera Mass noted that the application of new regulations has led to hundreds of detentions, with these 52 cases representing significant results from operational deployments. The processed individuals are currently held under a strict penitentiary regime as investigators and experts apply new legal norms.
