Guatemalan scientist Andrea del Valle visits Nansana Dance Kids in Uganda

Guatemalan biomedical engineer and researcher Andrea del Valle recently visited the Nansana Dance Kids, a children's dance group from Uganda that has gained international popularity through social media.

During the visit, Del Valle and the children performed a rendition of the iconic song ‘Luna de Xelajú’, specifically the version popularized by Guatemalan singer Gaby Moreno. Del Valle, whose research focuses on developing treatments for multi-drug resistant cancer, noted that the children expressed a strong affinity for Guatemalan culture. She encouraged others to support the group’s work and visit the region to help sustain their activities.
