Guava provides high fiber content for digestive health
Nutritionists emphasize that preventing constipation and supporting digestive health depends more on the quality and type of fiber consumed rather than just the quantity of vegetables eaten. While many believe eating large amounts of lettuce is sufficient, 100g of lettuce provides only about 0.5g of fiber. To meet the daily adult requirement of 20-25g, an individual would need to consume 4-5kg of lettuce, which is impractical.
In contrast, guava is a highly efficient source of fiber. One hundred grams of guava contains approximately 6g of fiber, and a single 300g guava can provide nearly 18g, meeting a significant portion of the daily requirement. Dr. Nguyen Thu Ha from Nam Sai Gon International General Hospital notes that fiber, a type of carbohydrate that is not fully broken down during digestion, is essential for regulating digestion and preventing gastrointestinal disorders.
